Recently, our Arizona Preps' staff traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada, to cover the Tribe Athletics Native American Jr. Nationals. In the Girl's Divisions, there were a lot of talented student-athletes. Our staff was pleased to uncover and discover some of the top prospects in the Native American Grassroots community. Here are some of the top performers (In no particular order) . . .
Sadie Tanner 2024 5-5 PG Yelm HS (WA)
A floor general with good court vision and always looking to set up her teammates. Will look for her own shot when her team needs a spark and can shoot from all ranges.
Aaliyah Marchand 2023 5-5 SG Omak HS (WA)
Aaliyah is an instant offense as a 3-point threat. She can get her own shot and does a good job of finding the open zone to create space.
Alexis Foreman 2021 5-8 Guard Anadarko HS
A University of Central Oklahoma commit, Alexis prides herself as being the leader of her team and setting the tone on defense. Excellent at forcing the defense to collapse and dishes to open teammates.
MahPiya Jackson 2022 5-10 SF Four Winds HS (ND) Shooter from mid-range and deep who always needs to be accounted for. Great length to disrupt and challenge defenders. Smart player who knows how to get to her spots without the ball.
Jaileen Yarrow - 2024 5-7 CG Bishop Manogue Catholic (NV) - A rising prospect with tremendous upside on both ends of the floor. A prospect to watch, as she has two offers from Nevada and UNLV. She plays with a lot of confidence and is a match-up nightmare on both ends of the floor for opposing teams. I anticipate her having a huge summer where she will rack up more Division-I offers.
Kalayna Johnson - 2021 5-5 Guard Westwood (AZ) A nice guard prospect with a high IQ and nice feel for the game. I like her ability to survey and create scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates.
Oniha Barton-Paddock 2021 5-7 Guard Winslow(AZ) - A sniper can convert from mid & long range, She has good feel for the game and great ball handling.
Ahdiyah Chee 2024 5-6 Guard Dobson (AZ) - An athletic prospect with a high IQ and tremendous upside is a do it all prospect on both ends of the floor stock should rise as she has improved her game tremendously. She would be a solid pickup for a college as she continues to evolve her game. As a sophomore she is a low-major plus prospect who will develop into a nice mid-major over time.
Jasmine Olivar - 2024 5-6 G Fort Thomas (AZ) - A sleeper prospect with tremendous upside, high IQ, finishing ability, quick release and range. She helped lead her team to a 1A State Title, and I anticipate her continuing to improve and rise. College coaches take note, as she is under the radar.
Nikkianna Kinsel - 2023 5-3 Guard Westwood (AZ) A nice guard prospect who can play on and off the ball with a nice shooting stroke and range. She has a nice feel for the game and great basketball IQ.
Layla C'Bearing - 2023 5-9 Forward Rinton (WY) - An up and coming prospect who has shown vast improvement. She has a good feel for the game and plays tough inside.
Sandie Friday - 2021 5-9 Guard Ethete (WY) - An elite scorer who breaks down defenders then has the ability to finish and has range. She is a United Tribes Technical College commit, where I anticipate her having a huge season.
Angela Astorga - 2021 5-9 Guard Lander (WY) - A physical guard prospect who finishes through contact, great IQ and passing ability. I like her aggression and intensity, another under-the-radar prospect.
Amya Gourneau - 2023 5-8 Point Guard Turtle Mountain (ND) - A low major caliber prospect who has a great IQ and feel for the game can facilitate by driving and dishing to open teammates.
Mason Ferris - 2023 5-8 Wing Turtle Mountain (ND) - A quick wing who thrives in transition who finishes well and has range she has great anticipation and creates chaos on the defensive end.
Katie Waukau 2023 5-4 Guard West De Pere (WI)
Katie has a great presence on the floor. Led her team in 3-pointers. She knows her assignments and is an exceptional on-ball defender.
Tse Nizhoni Morgan - 2022 6-1 Forward Somerset HS (TX) A big time talent with solid post skills and rebounding ability college coaches take note a solid low-major prospect.
Mya Way - 2023 5-6 Guard - Mesquite HS (AZ) She is a big time talent who has a unique scoring skill-set and plays tough on defense.
Ashiian Hunter - 2023 5-2 Combo Guard Mesa HS - An elite prospect with tremendous upside, an uptempo guard who is quick and aggressive on both ends of the floor with elite scoring ability. She will have a big junior season and should start attracting offers as she is an elite talent.
Nyese Jones 2022 5-5 Guard Westwood (Mesa,AZ) A nice guard prospect who thrives in an uptempo offensive and defensive system with great facilitation and scoring ability. Another under the radar prospect with tremendous upside.
Jaziah Billey 2025 Point Guard Dobson (Mesa, AZ) An incredible point guard prospect who is an excellent facilitator. She is an aggressive defender who guards the perimeter well. She can score at all three ranges.
Demetria Dosela 2025 6-0 Forward Miami HS (AZ) Dosela is a hidden gem prospect who is a double-double machine in scoring and rebounds. She has a great feel for the game and will develop into a nice college prospect. College coaches take note.
