Top-Rated Prospects Set For Big Season For AZ Compass Prep

AZ Compass Prep has consistently become one of the top prep programs in the country, after consistently producing high-level basketball prospects annually. Fresh off another NBA draft pick in Jeremiah Fears (New Orleans Pelicans), the program is set to have a big season this year, as numerous elite prospects will return this season to lead the charge for the program. Director of Basketball Operations, Pete Kaffey, has brought in some of the nation's best prospects annually, and this year will be among the program's most talented groups ever, as "The House Twins," senior guards Kaden and Kalek House, Quincy Wadley and Miika Muurinen will each return to Compass Prep this season to lead the program to a potential National Championship.

It is very difficult to keep such top-rated talent together, and so it will be exciting to watch each of these four highly nationally ranked prospects perform together this season, after returning from last year's team, which was considered young by national prep program standards. This group will anchor a loaded lineup at the program this season, and will look to make a big splash nationally as they compete for their final season. While the program has also added numerous other elite prospects this season, each of these four gifted prospects will lead the way and will each look to sign with the high-major Division-I programs of their choice.

"The House Twins," senior guards Kaden and Kalek House have made a lot of positive noise in the state, since entering the Arizona high school and now prep school ranks, as they have just about done it all. After leaving Desert Mountain High School a year ago for Compass Prep, both Kaden and Kalek House have dominated their competition and reached new heights each season in their playing careers. While they have always played together and been an imposing force for opposing defenses, this past spring and summer these two elite guard prospects made the decision to play individually, as both prospects competed for different club programs on two different circuits. Kaden House chose to sign with Puma and competed this summer for a High Major club program, while Kalek House chose to compete on the Nike EYBL circuit with the Oakland Soldiers club program.

Both prospects dominated in their own way this club season, as Kaden House proved to be one of the best individual scorers in America, regardless of shoe circuit, and Kalek House became one of the most complete guard prospects in the country, as he played alongside one of the nation's premier prospects, 6-foot-3 senior guard Jason Crowe. Kaden is currently rated as the #47 prospect in America's 2026 Class by ESPN, and Kalek House is currently rated #92 nationally by ESPN in the same class. Both House brothers played with superior confidence and competed at a very high level all spring and summer. As a result, both prospects have received loads of Division-I offers and will have a very big decision to make. Will they decide to play together in college or separately. I expect both elite prospects to make their college decisions this fall. Either way, some college program will be very happy with either guard prospect, or potentially both.

There is no prospect more promising on the AZ Compass Prep roster than 6-foot-10, 190-pound senior Miikka Muurinen. A native of Finland, Muurinen came to AZ Compass Prep last summer and immediately blew up nationally - rising from a completely unknown prospect to a Top 5 national ranking with ESPN and 247 Sports. Muurinen is an absolute pro level talent. Muurinen is a very lengthy and skilled stretch 4-man that can play multiple positions on the floor, and has excellent versatility as a player. He is a tremendous talent with pro level experience before entering the national prep school ranks, and plays with a serious mean streak that makes his a serious competitor on the floor. He is still learning to play through his challenges on the court, but he has the intangibles as a player that you cannot teach. He is very skilled and can make shots from anywhere on the floor, with his pure shooting stroke that allows him to catch and shoot, shoot from the standstill position or make shots on the move. He can score from all (3) levels, and also plays very big inside and around the paint, which can lead to early foul trouble at times. He is an active rebounder and shot-blocker and runs the floor exceptional well, and is a very strong finisher in the open floor or in the half-court set.

Currently, Muurinen has a nice list of offers for himself, and so he will also have a big college decision to make as well. He has also received a long list of offers, from such programs as North Carolina, Duke, Kentucky, UCLA, Arkansas, Michigan, Alabama, Utah, BYU, Cincinnati, Illinois, Texas Tech and many others. Muurinen will also make a college program very happy when it is all said and done. Nuurinen is currently ranked as the nation's #15 overall prospect by ESPN.

6-foot-4, 185-pound senior guard Quincy Wadley is another big time prospect in the program, and many scouts and media love this young man's potential for the future. A long and rangy guard prospect with very good athleticism and an advanced offensive skillset that allows him to score from all (3) levels, Wadley is a big-time individual talent with strong upside still for the future. Wadley is coming off an excellent spring and summer performance himself on the Puma shoe circuit, and he is one of the most sought after 2026 prospects in the country currently. Wadley is currently ranked as the #74 overall prospect by ESPN.

Wadley will also have a big decision to make for himself, as he already possesses offers from such programs as Villanova, Florida State, Maryland, Missouri, Texas A&M, Miami, Clemson, Providence, Pittsburgh, Georgia, Arizona State, Temple and others.

This group of senior prospects should be very tough to beat this prep season, and I look forward to watching them this season, as they look to win it all.
