The staff at Tribe Athletics have done it again. They gathered the top Indigenous Student Athletes in their 3rd Annual Native American Nationals Event. It is a pleasure to evaluate and observe these young athletes compete. Our staff at Arizona Preps will be scouting all weekend to cover the best Native Student Athletes. Here are some of the top standouts from Day 1:
Emily Manuelito Roc Steady 2023 5-5 Combo Guard
Manuelito is the truth! She is an elite combo guard with great IQ and decision making. A guard that looks to balance the floor with good spacing and cuts well without the ball. Manuelito has a smooth handle and three level scoring ability. A solid low major prospect.
Jasmine Olivar NWT 2024 5-6 Point Guard
Olivar is one of my favorite overall prospects in the 2024 class. She doesn’t hesitate to guard her opponent from 94 feet. Besides being a solid defender, Olivar does a great job facilitating the offense and can score from all three levels. Her recent transfer to Xavier Prep (AZ) should propel her recruiting stock.
Jaileen Yarrow Dem Lady Sleepers 2024 5-8 Combo Guard
Yarrow’s game continues to grow on me. This young lady is a threat defensively and offensively. She has a solid handle, great facilitation and scoring ability at all three levels. Yarrow’s recruiting is going to skyrocket until the end of the summer as she already holds a Nevada and UNLV offer. I anticipate more colleges to offer her.
Amber Cly Roc Steady 2023 5-8 Shooting Guard
Cly is a sniper from long range. She has good three level scoring ability and handles. Her game grew on me as she has one of the best shooting strokes in this event. Cly has good athleticism and length which disrupts opposing team’s passing lanes. Another solid low major prospect.
Katie Waukau Wisco Rez Elite 2023 5-7 Combo Guard
Waukau is one of the top prospects of the entire event. She currently holds an offer from St. Norbert College in Green Bay, Wisconsin which would be a steal for them. Waukau is at least a mid-major talent as she has great ability to break down defenders and either score or assist open scorers. She is a good on and off ball defender with tremendous upside. A solid sleeper prospect for a college looking for an impact player.
Micayla Silas Dem Lady Sleepers 2023 5-9 Shooting Guard
Silas is a long, athletic shooting guard with tremendous upside. I like her ability to make plays and hit crucial shots. Defensively she has great anticipation and uses her athleticism and length to her advantage in disrupting passing lanes and creating offensive opportunities off of forced turnovers. Silas is a great sleeper prospect looking for an athletic shooting guard with range and playmaking ability.
Shaundiin Yazzie AZ Nations 2023 5-7 Combo Guard
Yazzie is an effective guard who has solid playmaking ability. Her game really grew on me as she had a knack to step up and make plays to help her team beat a very talented Wisco Elite squad. She has a great feel for the game and a nice shooting stroke. Defensively she reads the passing lanes well to get steals and deflections. A nice small college prospect.
Ashiian Hunter Dem Lady Sleepers 2023 5-5 Point Guard
Hunter is an elite point guard with a great skill set. She is an elite floor general who controls the tempo besides being able to put her teammates in scoring position, she has solid three level scoring ability which makes her a potent matchup. I like her motor as she defends well. Hunter is highly skilled as I feel she is a low-major plus prospect. Currently she has a lot of JUCO offers and I anticipate her recruiting to heat up.

Tobias is one of the top prospects in 2027. She is a solid wing prospect with great IQ and feel for the game. A three level scorer who creates offensive opportunities off of her relentless defense. She thrives in transition and attacks the rim aggressively. Tobias is a gem in the gym with tremendous upside! She will be a solid college prospect.
Tamia Pietila Pangos Arizona 2027 5-7 Combo Guard
Pietila looks like a gym rat as she has a very athletic frame. Besides being a stellar athlete, Pietila has a great IQ and feel for the game. She is a smart defender and has a knack for making plays. Pietila is a southpaw with a smooth mid-range game. Her game grew on me as she is an elite playmaker on both ends of the floor. Another solid future college prospect.
