Not since NBA guard Jerryd Bayless (Philadelphia 76ers) graced the Arizona hardwood as a prospect for St. Mary's High School have we seen a young man receive so much college recruitment. Hillcrest Prep Academy 6-foot-5 sophomore wing Josh Green is receiving scholarship offers almost daily, as the gifted young prospect recently received a Top 25 national ranking by Scout Hoops.com.
Over the past week, Green has received almost double-digit scholarship offers as Texas A&M, USC, University of Washington, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Wake Forest and Marquette each have offered scholarships to Green.
Green also currently has offers from the University of Arizona, Cal, Utah State, San Francisco, UT-Martin and Prarie View A&M, with many more schools looking to get involved this spring and summer. Expect loads of more division-I offers for Green this club season.
Green also received a visit to his game this past weekend from University of Kentucky legendary head coach John Calipari.
Fresh off a national championship with Hillcrest Prep this season, Green has seen his college recruitment really take off this spring. Green has recently traveled to New York and Indiana, taking part in the Under Armour Association's travel circuit with his club program Earl Watson Elite (CA). In the events, Green played exceptionally well, averaging well over 20+ points per/game in both events during the NCAA Evaluation period.
Josh Green is among the elite overall prospects in the state of Arizona, and now the country. He is one of the nation's hottest prospects currently, and is playing his best basketball of his young career.
I will continue to follow the play and recruitment of Josh Green closely this club season, and bring you any updates as they continue to develop.
Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report: Green is a high-level young athletic talent that possesses a live body and excellent body control in the open floor. A very good slasher and finisher, Green is best while creating in the open floor and while slashing to the basket where he is an excellent finisher already. He can finish either hand around the basket and also has a variety of floaters he uses when he faces bigger opposition in the paint. A good shooter with range, Green has worked hard to stretch his ability to extend the floor - making him difficult to defend for opposing players. He still needs to become more consistent from longer ranges. An active rebounder and finisher that plays above the rim and is able to attack the basket with tenacity. An excellent offensive rebounder. Gets to the foul line quite often when he is in rhythm. A very good on-the-ball defender that plays passing lanes and forces opponents to watch their passes, as he gets his hands on the basketball quite often. Great in the open floor. A good ball handler and passer but needs to continue to focus in these two areas of his game to maximize his potential as a college prospect. A big time prospect for the future and among the elite prospects in the country.
