While it is still very early in the young career of Inspire Prep Academy's 6-foot-4 8th grader Adan Diggs, this young man is already on another level. While still a mere middle school prospect, Diggs has received loads of national attention for his exploits on the basketball court very early in the recruiting process. Diggs is currently regarded among the nation's elite prospects in the 2028 Class, and is even regarded some national scouting services as the top overall prospect in the class nationally - an amazing honor for a top-rated young Arizona prospect. The sky is the limit for Diggs, who will suit up this season for a new Inspire Prep Academy program, that will feature many of the nation's top prospects for the 2028 Class this prep season.
Inspire Prep Academy is a newly developed prep program in the East Valley, and is connection with the Inspire Courts facility in Gilbert. The new prep program will feature a post-graduate team this prep season, and also a high-powered team of 2028 prospects that will compete against other prep programs. The 2028 prospects are a team of middle school prospects that features a group of nationally ranked performers, and will be led by the play of Adan Diggs, Trace Lopez, both residing in Arizona, and numerous other prospects that have ventured to Arizona from outside the state to compete for this special group of young gifted athletes. Organized by local basketball aficionado Michael Clark, this team is the first of it's kind in the state of Arizona, and even in the country. It will be very exciting all prep season to watch this young group compete against some of the top prep programs in the West.
Adan Diggs will be featured with this year's team, as he is highly regarded among the nation's top scouting services as the top 2028 prospect in the land. Diggs has dominated his competition for years now, regardless of the level he has played against, and is on pace to become a household name among Arizona basketball enthusiasts and also college coaches very soon. Diggs is an ultra-athletic prospect with an advanced feel for the game at such an early age. He is a highlight reel dunker already as a middle school prospect, and also has a high skill level that allows him to score the basketball at a high rate. He has a nice shooting stroke with range from the perimeter, and also has developed a very good mid-range game for himself as well. He is very difficult to defend for opposing defenders, as he plays with a love for the game and also plays with excellent energy and a motor, that allows him to make plays at a high rate on the court. He is a winner and plays to win every time he is on the court. A very confident performer that expects the best from himself and his teammates, and has no fear on the court.
Diggs and his young 2028 teammates made a big decision for themselves this season, as they decided to skip playing for a middle school program this season, and instead challenge themselves at a much higher level and compete for Inspire Prep Academy, in what will provide a stage for these young elite prospects to spread their wings. Former UCONN star guard Rich Ashmeade will coach this talented young group this season, which will be a nice benefit for these talented young performers. An elite young performer like Diggs and each of his elite teammates will truly benefit this season from the leadership and direction given by Ashmeade and his staff, as well as the strong competition they will face all prep season.
Diggs, as well as his young teammates will certainly begin receiving many Division-I offers, as college coaches begin to catch a glimpse of them, which will certainly take place while they are competing against other national prep programs. College coaches, scouts and media will be surprised by the promising talent of these young prospects, and Diggs will be among the featured performers for this group. I am very excited to cover Diggs and this group throughout the prep season, and look forward to watching them compete, as this has never happened before.
