I had a busy Spring, Summer, and Fall traveling around the West Coast to evaluate talent on both the women’s and men’s side. One of the guards who I came across is 2028 Guard Gianni McGhee out of Las Vegas, NV, while at the New Balance Circuit stop here in Phoenix, AZ. McGhee had all the charisma and skill set to catch my attention.
McGhee wowed me with his scoring versatility by scoring effectively from both inside and outside the paint - demonstrating proficiency on mid-range jumpers, three-point shots, and finishing at the rim. He possesses good athleticism with a combination of speed, agility, and vertical leap. This helps him excel in transition and contributes to his defensive capabilities. His dribbling skills are solid, allowing him to create his own shot and navigate through defenses with relative ease.
McGhee has shown potential as a defender, with quick reflexes and the ability to guard multiple positions. His athleticism contributes to his effectiveness in both on-ball and help defense.
His commitment to improving his game and his work ethic are often highlighted as significant factors in his development and progress. I anticipate him to have a big freshmen campaign at Coronado High School, and his stock will continue to elevate into next summer.
