Another top-rated member of Arizona's younger 2026 Class, and a prospect that is on the rise in the class is American Leadership Academy - Queen Creek's 6-foot-1 rising sophomore guard George Mihilli. Mihilli is a superb athletic talent and a future two-sport star in the state, as he competes at a high level in basketball and football. This young man is on the rise in both sports, and he will have to make a decision in the future regarding both sports, but currently he is on the rise among our top overall prospects in Arizona's 2026 Class.
Mihilli did not receive a Top 20 ranking recently among our Top 20 prospects in the class, but he has the ability and potential to crack the lineup in our next rankings for the class, and is a worthy prospect for the honor. Mihilli is coming off a strong showing this spring and summer while playing for his club program, Zona Nation 15U, where he helped lead his team to numerous strong finishes on the Adidas 3SSB circuit. He competed at a high level and now looks prepared to have a breakout sophomore high school season in the winter. Mihilli is one 2026 prospect that our staff will be keeping a close eye on this high school season, as he is a worthy prospect to consider among the top prospects in the class.
Mihilli is also a top-rated football prospect with excellent quickness and strong hands for the ball - able to make catches from all angles and positions on the field. He is currently playing under the leadership of highly acclaimed football Head Coach and former Heisman Trophy winner Ty Detmer, so his future is very bright in the sport of football. Mihilli will travel this week to take part in a football camp at the University of Louisville, where he will meet with their coaching staff. Because Mihilli will be a two-sport star, he and his family plan to meet college coaching staffs for both sports over time, as he makes his rounds to national and regional camps and club events.
Mihilli is a point guard prospect with excellent athleticism and a high motor. He pushes the basketball hard and is a strong driver and finisher that applies pressure on opposing defenses, while also being able to score the basketball off the dribble or make shots from the perimeter, with a pure left-handed shooting stroke. He is a strong ball handler and can get to where he wants on the floor. He also sees the floor well and finds the open man, able to create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates at a high rate. He is also a very good defender as well, and uses his athleticism and quickness to play passing lanes. Mihilli plays with a high level of confidence on the court and is a vocal leader for his team, on and off the court.
Mihilli is one prospect that could make a splash in our next player rankings with a strong sophomore season, and I will be looking forward to watching him this high school season, as he is set to have a big high school career in both sports. He will look to play both sports in college, if the right opportunity presents itself over time.
