One of the most exciting point guards in the state this year is Dylan Swindle of Desert Vista High School. Dylan is a mere sophomore and is only 14 years of age. She currently holds a 4.0 grade point average, and is completing AP classes. Dylan has dreams of playing college basketball. Some schools that are on top of her list are South Carolina, UCLA and UCONN.

Dylan credits Samantha and Eric Swindle for her current love of the game.

"At 8 years old, I watched my dad and brother play in the backyard, and in the 4th grade, my parents put me in a league and I loved playing basketball ever since," said Swindle.

Dylan is very talented. Her play on the court leaves spectators in awe, due to her speed, aggressive play, and shooting ability.

“Shooting has become a lost art in the game of basketball today, and it is not focused on enough. My dad has taught me how to shoot, and I fell in love with it ever since.  I also enjoy playing defense.  I feel one of the biggest strengths of my game is my shooting, and I feel I have good court vision by making sure my teammates are involved. I feel that I can improve in my mid-range game, but I am working on being the best," Swindle told Arizona Preps.

Dylan does not fear driving the basketball to the rim, which is another big part of her game.

Dylan credits her father for being very inspirational to her.

“I think my dad is a big inspiration for me, because he is the main reason why I try to play my best and with all the time he invests in me improving as a player. It inspires me," said Swindle.

Family plays a huge part of Dylan’s life.

“Family is very important to me because they always support me in anything I do. I love my family," said Swindle.

Besides basketball, some of Dylan’s hobbies include running track, cooking, baking, drawing, and also writing.

“I believe in helping my community, that is why I volunteer at St. Vincent De Paul to help feed the homeless," said Swindle.

Dylan has high dreams away from basketball.

“I would like to become a sports broadcaster, and also maybe a doctor."

Dylan is a very talented basketball player, and a great student. Dylan Swindle is one of the best point guards in the state of Arizona.
