Deer Valley is on a quest to pick up where they left off last season, after an upset in the 4A State Playoffs 2nd Round. A major contributor to the team’s success over the last two seasons is the strong play of guard Eliyah Brosseau. Broosseau is averaging 9.7 points, 3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
Head Coach Dawn Almazan had this to say about her, “Eliyah is a true general on the floor," said Almazan. "She is our silent leader as she leads by example. When she does speak to the team, everyone is quiet, engaged, and listening.”
Brosseau holds offers from SAGU American Indian College (PHX, AZ) and Scottsdale Community College.
She is a quick and crafty guard that uses her defensive prowess-like ability to disrupt opposing guards. Her active hands clog passing lanes and she seems to pick the pocket of opposing ball handlers. Brosseau can also light it up from long range and has the ability to hit key shots to sway momentum. She distributes the ball well and attacks the gaps of opposing defenses. A solid glue player who does the little things to help put her team in the best position to win games.
I anticipate other schools getting on board with offering her, as she has tremendous upside.
