Many Arizona prospects benefited from the NCAA"s Spring Evaluation Period, while playing for their respective club teams, and also the busy month of June for high school basketball in the state. Brophy Prep's sharp-shooting 6-foot-3 junior guard Ryan Burbach had a breakout junior season for Brophy Prep, and then continued his strong play on the Under Armour club circuit for his AZ Select program. As a result, Burbach has seen a nice rise in his college recruitment, as he now has several Division-I offers for himself, and recently received a new offer from a program in the Big Sky Conference.
Burbach now has several Division-I offers to his credit, as Portland State University and Head Coach Jase Coburn have now extended an offer to Burbach. Burbach also has offers on the table for himself from Northern Illinois and Houston Christian, both offers he received this spring. He looks to be heating up as we head into the next two July NCAA Evaluation Periods (July 11-14 and July 19-21) this month.
Many more Division-I programs have expressed interest, so more offers could follow him after another strong performance in July. Burbach's club team, AZ Select UAA 17U, will be one of the featured teams on the UAA circuit this summer, after a very impressive performance throughout the spring. The team also features numerous individual prospects that have raised the bar in recruiting this spring, and each prospect will have a large following of college coaches that have already extended offers to them. Burbach should benefit a great deal from a high level of residual recruitment this summer, as his team will potentially play each game in front of (100) plus college coaches.
Burbach is coming off a serious breakout junior season for himself, as he helped lead Brophy Prep to a 17-11 overall record on the season in the state's 6A Division. While playing a very tough season schedule this past season, Brophy Prep Head Coach Matt Hooten and his staff relied heavily on the play of Burbach last season, who had his best high school season to date for himself.
Burbach is sure-fire prospect on the rise when you consider his length of body and big feet, which suggests that he will only continue to grow a great deal over time. He still has major upside and potential for the future, and is fundamentally sound with an excellent shooting stroke with range. He has a very good overall skill level offensively, and just needs more time for his body to mature. As he continues to grow and get physically stronger, Burbach will maximize his potential as a player. This young man plays with a competitive fire and has a shooting stroke and basketball IQ that will translate nicely over time. I previous stated that he would become one of the better prospects in the class, and an excellent sleeper prospect for college programs to recruit. His current and future college recruitment will prove that. He is a shooting specialist with size and length for the college level, and many college programs need shooting.
I will continue to follow Burbach's college recruitment closely, and look forward to bringing you more updates as they continue to develop.
Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report: Ryan Burbach really stepped up his game for Brophy Prep last season, and has developed nicely into one of the state's best pure shooters of the basketball. As a result, he has become a nice looking prospect in Arizona's 2025 Class. I previously spoke about Burbach's tremendous growth as a player and prospect from his 2023 spring and summer performance, and he has proven me right, as he has emerged nicely as a top performer among the class.
