The state of Arizona has produced many elite basketball prospects over the years, and former Perry High School rising junior superstar Bruce Branch III was next in line. Standing 6-foot-7 and possessing excellent size, length, and versatility at the guard position, Branch has quickly emerged as one of the elite overall prospects in the country for the 2027 class. A five-star prospect and currently ranked among the top 10 players nationally by ESPN, Branch made national headlines this summer by announcing his transfer from Perry High School in Gilbert, Arizona, to the prestigious Prolific Prep program, now located in Florida.

Branch’s move comes after a highly productive sophomore season, where he played a significant role in helping Perry capture its fourth consecutive state title, and third-straight Open Division State Championship. Branch's performance helped Perry finish the season with a dominant 30-1 overall record and claim the AIA Open Division state title. With Branch playing a major role alongside superstar Koa Peat (University of Arizona signee) and D'Andre Harrison (UMKC signee), Perry emerged as one of the most dominant high school programs in Arizona basketball history.

Over the past year, Branch’s national profile has skyrocketed. He now holds a long list of college offers from a long list of Division-I programs including Kansas, Arizona, Louisville, Indiana, Texas, Oklahoma State, Washington, UCLA, Kansas State, West Virginia, Cal, Arizona State, Nevada, Tarleton State, San Francisco, Fresno State and UC Riverside, with many more schools looking to get involved soon.

The decision to transfer to Prolific Prep is a significant one. The program has produced numerous NBA players and elite college recruits, and it competes on a national stage against the top prep programs in America. For Branch, the move represents an opportunity to elevate his game even further, face elite competition on a daily basis, and prepare for the next level in a highly competitive environment.

Prolific Prep will benefit tremendously from Branch’s presence, as he brings high-level experience from one of the top programs in the West. His ability to play multiple positions, guard multiple spots defensively, and contribute offensively in a variety of ways makes him a valuable asset for any team. As he transitions to the prep level, all eyes will be on Branch as he continues to climb the national rankings and prepare for a future at the college and potentially professional level.

Still just 16 years old, Bruce Branch’s basketball journey is only getting started—but the move to Prolific Prep signals that his stock is still rising. He is a player to watch closely over the next two years as one of the premier national talents in the class of 2027.

Arizona Preps Scouting Report: Branch is a nice looking young prospect with a long, rangy physical frame that is still growing a great deal. He could get to be 6-8 or 6-9 in height over time, so look out. He has a nice skill level already that allows him to score at all (3) levels - with range on his shot, a good mid-range game and an ability to finish at the rim. All attributes that Branch will certainly continue to develop and improve in over the next several years of high school basketball. This suggests the reason for why Branch has become so highly sought after as a mere 2027 prospect. Branch's lengthy body allows him to rebound very well with very good lift and bounce off the floor. He has very good athleticism also and competes hard, which allows him to maximize his talents. Branch is a very versatile prospect as well, and can play multiple positions on the floor, as a result of his skill level and versatility - his best attribute as a player. Resembles a young Richard Jefferson (NBA).
