Yavapai Junior College (10-7, 4-3) has been back on the rise this season behind the leadership of Kevon Davis. Yavapai has currently won three games in a row on the season, including consecutive blowout wins over Phoenix College (76-53) and Glendale Junior College (97-73). In the event, Casteel defeated host McClintock High School in the championship game of the event, 65-56, and were led in the tournament by the overall play of 6-foot-2, 195-pound senior guard Aidan Schmidt.
