Since re-opening up his college recruitment recently, Shadow Mountain High School 2017 graduate, 6-foot-1 senior point guard Marcus Shaver has seen his college reruitment begin to soar.  This week Shaver received a visit from a PAC-12 program.

This week the University of Utah came to visit Shaver at his high school program - expressing serious interest in the talented prospect.  As a result, Shaver is beginnign to heat up with many college programs at all levels of college recruitment.

Marcus Shaver (UC-Santa Barbara signee) is one Arizona prospect that many local basketball enthusiasts this high school season believed could have went to a much higher college program.  Shaver gave an early verbal commitment to UC-Santa Barbara this fall, after moving back to the state of Arizona from Texas.  Shaver played his freshman and sophomore seasons at St. Mary's High School, before leaving the state to transfer high schools.

UC-Santa Barbara long-time head coach Bob Williams was released from his contract with the UCSB program at the end of this season, and, as a result, Shaver got out of his national letter of intent withe the program.

Now Shaver is among the best available guards in the West.  I expect many more programs to get involved with him the longer he is on the recruiting board.  Shavers is a definite hot prospect for college programs in pursuit of a high-powered division-I guard prospect.  Shaver is a big-time athletic talent with a superb skillset.

I will keep you posted as this story continues to unfold, and bring you any updates as they continue to develop.
