As if that recognition wasn’t enough, Wood was also honored this season with the amazing Spirit of Cotton Award - one of the most meaningful distinctions in Arizona high school athletics.

The Spirit of Cotton Award is presented annually to an individual who best represents the core values of high school athletics in Arizona. Named in honor of longtime Arizona basketball figure, legendary Phoenix Suns' Head Coach Cotton Fitzsimmons, the award recognizes a coach or contributor who demonstrates exceptional leadership, integrity, sportsmanship, and a lasting commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the court.
