Bella Vista Prep is absolutely loaded with top-rated national talent across the board for Division-I college programs to take a very hard look at. The program has produced loads of prospects over the past few years, especially with the recent collaboration of Bella Vista Prep and Canyon International Academy (CIA) over the past couple years. 6-foot-8 athletic senior forward Lucas Toukam has emerged as one of Arizona’s premier 2026 prospects over the past couple years, and on a loaded Bella Vista Prep roster, filled with national and international talent, Toukam made a name for himself as a strong and athletic rebounder and finisher in the class. This week, Toukam announced his college decision on social media - giving a nice verbal commitment to Northern Arizona University and Head Coach Shane Burcar and his coaching staff.
Before making his commitment to NAU, Toukam held offers from larger programs, including Arizona State, UC Santa Barbara, New Mexico State, UT Arlington and Tarleton State. He chose NAU to join his teammate, senior guard Noah George, who signed with NAU this fall. This pairing gives the Lumberjacks a powerful duo for the future, and the potential to make noise in the Big Sky Conference.
A dynamic forward with size and athleticism, Toukam is expected to make an immediate impact. His rebounding and versatility were on full display at last summer’s Pangos All-American Camp in Vegas, where he earned All-Star honors from his performance.
Landing Lucas Toukam is a major win for Northern Arizona and a testament to Coach Burcar’s commitment to recruiting top in-state talent. With prospects like Toukam, NAU is building a future that could attract even more big-time talent.
Congratulations to Toukam and his family, and the Bella Vista Prep program on another Division-I commitment from our Arizona Preps' staff.
Arizona Preps Scouting Report: Lucas Toukam is a physical specimen as a high school prospect, as he has excellent size and athleticism as a rebounder and finisher around the basket. He has a college-ready body and is an immediate impact prospect for the right college program. He runs the floor hard, has a good overall motor and is a strong finisher around the basket. He has developing perimeter skills that are adequate, but he does most of his work around and inside the paint. Has a soft touch from the perimeter and has improved his ability to make shots with range. Has solid low post moves and improved low-post footwork. An excellent rebounder and finisher. Competes hard and has a good attitude on and off the floor. An excellent sleeper prospect. Has excellent potential for the future.
