It is that time of year, for Arizona's top prospects in the 2026 Class to begin making their college decisions. With numerous prospects narrowing their college decisions, another prospect to watch closely is Millennium High School's star 6-foot-6, 195-pound senior guard Cam Holmes. Holmes has been one of the most recruited prospects in the country for many years now, and he has now trimmed his list of college programs down to (3) final schools - Arizona, North Carolina and Dayton. Holmes will have a big decision to make for himself, and while many people would like to see him at Arizona or North Carolina, the lure to go to Dayton, where his older brother, DaRon Holmes starred, is looming.

Holmes will soon make his college decision, after ruling out such programs as Gonzaga, Texas, Oklahoma and Illinois. After a long and lengthy recruiting process, which began very early for Cam Holmes, his college recruitment is now winding down.

Holmes is coming off another strong spring and summer performance on the Nike EYBL circuit with his Arizona Unity club program, and will now look to lead his Millennium program to the elusive Open Division State Championship, in Holmes' final high school season. Last season, Holmes led Millennium High School to a 20-8 overall record in Arizona’s top 6A Division. Behind Holmes’ versatile and consistent play, Millennium advanced all the way to the semifinals of the Open Division State Playoffs - reaching the Final Four before falling in a narrow 58-53 loss to Sunnyslope High School.

Last season, Holmes averaged 20.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Holmes proved he’s not just a scorer, but rather a complete player. Whether slashing to the basket, knocking down jumpers or facilitating for teammates, Holmes plays with a polish and poise. A relentless competitor and gym rat, Holmes is the emotional and vocal leader of a Millennium team that has become one of the elite programs in the country. His high motor, competitive edge, and ability to defend multiple positions have made him a cornerstone of Millennium’s culture and success.

I will continue to follow Cam Holmes' college decision closely, and bring you an update as soon as it continues to develop.

Arizona Preps Scouting Report: Unlike his older brother DaRon Holmes (Denver Nuggets), Cameron is a left-hander and is a 2/3 prospect that likes to create shots off the dribble from the perimeter, and also shoot the basketball with range from three-point distance. He has a very good perimeter shooting stroke with unlimited range, and also is a good ball handler that can create. He is an active rebounder and is a good passer that sees the floor, and enjoys getting the ball to the open teammate. He has a strong and developed mid-range game, his best offensive skillset. He also runs the floor hard for scoring opportunities, and is an excellent athlete in the open floor. He likes having the ball in his hands and making plays for himself and others, and continues to blossom into a nice facilitator of the basketball from the point position within the offense. Holmes has added some serious size to his once thin frame, and it is apparent now just how big and athletic of a wing prospect he has become. He is a big-time talent that has blossomed right before our eyes. Holmes is as good a prospect as there is in Arizona's 2026 Class, and I look forward to watching him to continue to soar to new heights.
