The spring and summer is an excellent opportunity for players to develop and gain maximum exposure to the recruiting process. Paradise Valley High School's 6-foot-5, 180-pound senior guard Noah Sowunmi had a strong junior season for high high school program, and has really seen his game develop through the spring and summer, while leading his club program. Sowunmi has become an excellent sleeper prospect for the 2024 Class in the state, and has taken his game to another level - in preparation for a very big senior season.

Recently, Sowunmi was selected as the Tournament Most Valuable Player after a strong overall performance in the Pangos Sweet 16 tournament in California, where he led his Factory 17U team to a tournament championship. Sowunmi also had a strong performance in the Vegas Summer Championships this past weekend - playing as the point guard for both events for his team, and showcasing his ballhandling skills and ability to score and facilitate for others. While possessing excellent size for the guard position, Sowunmi proved that he is a legitimate point guard prospect - capable of playing several positions on the floor, but showing consistency as a full-time ball handler and facilitator for his team. This ability to be a playmaker and also a potential lock-down defender has taken his game to another level.

Currently, Sowunmi does not posses any offers for himself, but he is worthy of serious college recruiting interest. I am looking forward to seeing which schools begin to express interest in him as a college prospect, as he has emerged as one of the better prospects in the class.

Sowunmi's game will translate to the collegiate level very well. He has very good size for the guard position and has very good versatility as a player. His ability to handle the basketball and make plays off the dribble allow for him to play several positions on the floor, if needed. He can create off the dribble for himself and others, and gets into the lane effectively and can finish strong at the rim, and does not mind physical contact. He is a solid shooter of the basketball, but will need to become more consistent from longer ranges to maximize his potential as a player, over time. He is a very good passer that pushes the ball and looks for the open man on the court. He is a strong rebounder from the guard position and an excellent on the ball defender, with very strong hands and quick feet - his best asset as a player. Sowunmi applies consistent pressure on the basketball and can defend the opposing team's best player.

Last season as a junior at Paradise Valley, Sowunmi had very good numbers for himself, and has had an excellent high school career for himself already - averaging 16 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists for his career at PV. His numbers have been very consistent during his junior and sophomore seasons, and he is expected to have a big senior season for Head Coach Mark Schumaker. I believe he will become one of the top overall performers in the state as a senior.

I will look forward to seeing Sowunmi continue to produce and develop into one of the best overall sleeper prospects in Arizona's 2024 Class, as he has proven that he is worthy.
