Another prospect that has emerged over the past two summers, and is now one of the state's top guard prospects is Ironwood High School's speedy and athletic 5-foot-11 junior guard Leonard Romayor. Romayor has used each of his opportunities to his advantage and has displayed a serious skill level since entering the high school ranks just two years ago. While being a young sophomore contributor for a talented Brophy Prep team last season, Romayor has now also changed his location for his final two years of high school, and will now suit up for an also very talented Ironwood High School program during his junior season.

Romayor first caught my attention while playing during the summer of 2020. He was a standout performer in numerous local showcase events, during the height of the Covid pandemic - proving his extreme love and passion for the game. Amidst a national crises, Romayor competed at a high level in numerous events, and was a consistent top performer throughout the process. This past summer, Romayor showed much more maturity as a ball handler and leader of his team, and displayed extreme confidence on and off the basketball court. While playing for his club program, Quantum Elite, Romayor played against 17U level competition and held his own. He also turned in a strong performance at the Pangos Premier 80 event in July, amidst all levels of competition and ages.

After a recent transfer to Ironwood High School, Romayor instantly was inserted into the lineup by terrific Head Coach Jordan Augustine, and has quickly developed under Augustine's leadership. He will now look to help the program maintain their level of consistent winning during the 2021-2022 season.

Romayor is a pass-first point guard prospect that enjoys getting his teammates involved. He is a pass-first point guard prospect that has command-presence on the floor with the basketball in his hands, and makes players around him better, as he advances the court with the pass and also leads his teammates with his passes. He pushes the basketball hard up the floor and is always looking to run, for easy scoring opportunities. He is a strong driver and finisher and will only continue to improve in this area a great deal over time, as he matures physically and gains more physical strength and size. He has a nice shooting stroke with range and has nice form on his shot. As he matures over the next few years, and with his advanced work ethic, he should be able to become more consistent from longer ranges. He has a good overall mid-range game and is not afraid to mix it up against bigger guards. He is a strong defender with quick hands and feet, and is able to keep his man in front of him. He plays passing lanes quite well and is very quick to the ball.

Romayor advised Arizona Preps that currently he is working hard on his size and strength with a personal trainer, and is looking to add more size to his thin frame, which will benefit him a great deal over time. While Romayor is a smaller guard prospect, he has the physical tools that benefit his situation, as he is fast and creates mis-matches on the floor as a result of his quickness.

Romayor is also an excellent student and carries a 3.85 CUM GPA. He plans to major in sports or business management.

I look forward to watching Romayor develop over the next couple years of high school, as he is also a fine young man with a great attitude, on and off the floor.
