Over the past year, our experienced and dedicated staff of scouts have covered a lot of high school games within the state and abroad, and, as a result, we have released our NEW Arizona Preps Player Rankings for girls basketball in the state of Arizona. We have compiled our list of player rankings for each class of high school prospects in the state - 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 Classes. These player rankings will be released on each of our Arizona Preps' social media outlets, and also sent out to hundreds of women college basketball programs across the country.

We begin our release of our Spring Player Rankings (Rankings will be updated during the Summer and the Fall seasons) with our Individual Player Rankings for the 2021 Class.

This senior class is absolutely loaded with some top-rated college prospects for college programs, as many of the prospects in this class, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, are still available in their college recruitment. Our NEW Player Rankings for the 2021 Class are led by Sahuaro High School's 6-foot-1 senior guard/forward Alyssa Brown (UNLV commit). After giving a verbal commitment last fall to UNLV, and after an amazing junior season where she poured in ridiculous numbers - averaging 31.1 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.9 steals per game, and also setting the state's single-season scoring record, Brown returned for her senior season and did it all again in amazing fashion.

As a senior, Brown (pictured) poured in 30.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3,9 steals and 1.9 blocks per/game. Brown led her high school deep into the state playoffs again as a senior, and also finished her illustrious high school basketball career as the state's #2 All-Time Leading Scorer in Arizona history. Had there been no pandemic this high school season, Brown would have surely become the state's all-time leading scorer!

While Brown was an early signee for the UNLV women's coaching staff, she is an absolute steal for the Mountain West Conference. This young lady, had she waited until the late signing period, would have been recruited hard by every women's college program in America.

Our #2 overall prospect in the class is Valley Vista High School's 6-foot-1 senior forward Marisa Davis (University of Washington signee). Davis is another big-time, college-ready talent that just completed a terrific high school career for herself - leading her Valley Vista program to a second consecutive 6A State Championship. Davis averaged impressive numbers on a very talented team - averaging 17.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per/game, while leading Valley Vista to an almost perfect 17-1 overall record.

Davis is a special talent, as she is a skilled performer that can score inside and out. She has an excellent mid-range game, which allows her to catch and face the basket, then make strong drives to the basket, where she is an excellent finisher. She attacks the basket with vigor and does not mind physical contact from defenders. She can finish with either hand around the basket, making her very effective in the lane. She also has a soft touch from the perimeter and is able to shoot from a stand-still position, or on a jump-shot over defenders. She will be an excellent addition for the University of Washington next fall.

Our #3 prospect in the class is AZ Compass Prep 6-foot senior forward Kiya Dorroh (University of Missouri signee). Dorroh is among the nation's top overall 2021 prospects - currently rated by ESPN as the #47 prospect overall in the country, an amazing honor for an Arizona prospect and a rating that brings a lot of attention to Arizona girl's basketball.

Dorroh is a superb talent with good size for the guard position, but she played this season primarily in the post and on the wing for a smaller AZ Compass Prep team. She is skilled and has a good shooting stroke but will need to add consistency from longer ranges. She can put the on the floor and make plays. A very good scorer off the dribble, Dorroh has a strong mid-range game and is very effective in the lane and around the paint, with her ability to finish strong at the basket. She can score at all three levels and is a threat to score from anywhere on the floor. Headed to the University of Missouri, a big-time commitment.

Rounding out our Top 5 in the 2021 Class are PHH Prep's 5-foot-10 senior guard Ally Stedman (Pepperdine signee) and Seton Catholic High School's Amanda Barcello (BYU signee). Stedman is a sure-fire college prospect that will play immediately at Pepperdine in the West Coast Conference. She is a very skilled and heady point guard prospect that can play both guard positions on the floor, and at a high level. She is an excellent shooter of the basketball with range on her shot, and has a superb overall feel for the game - making players around her better. She had a terrific season this year, while leading a dominant PHH Prep program to a Grind Session National Championship. Stedman is a terrific prospect that will have an excellent college career for herself.

Fresh off leading her Seton Catholic HS program to another State Championship, Amanda Barcello is another member of the historic Barcello basketball family. She is a skilled guard prospect that has very good versatility as a player, and is able to play several positions on the floor. She is a very good shooter of the basketball with range on her shot, and is also a strong driver and finisher with the ball. She is a very good ball handler and passer, and should be able to play both guard positions on the floor in college. Also a strong rebounder for her size and a gritty performer defensively, Amanda is a solid all-around prospect for the future, and will continue to make the Barcello family name proud at BYU next fall.
