Mesa Mountain View HS 6-foot-2 rising senior post Jordan Jensen has given a verbal commitment to a Big-12 basketball program.

Mesa Mountain View High School's talented and hard-working 6-foot-2 rising senior post Jordan Jensen has found a college home for herself, after having a strong junior season and a very good spring performance.

Recently, Jensen gave a big verbal commitment to Iowa State University and head coach Bill Fennelly and his staff.  Jensen was receiving college recruitment from many different division-I programs ranging from mid-major to high-major before her commitment.

Jensen joins club teammate Courtney Ekmark, as both prospects gave recent high-major verbal pledges this early summer.  Both prospects play for the talented Arizona Warriors club program - coached by St. Mary's head coach Curtis Ekmark.

Jensen helped lead her Mesa Mountain View program last season to the top position in the Division-I, Section-III class for the season after posting a 14-0 league record.  Mountain View would finish the season with a strong 29-3 overall record, before falling in the Division-I state semi-finals to state runner-up Hamilton HS.

Jensen averaged 11.2 points and a team-high 7.2 rebounds per/game last season.  Her top games last season included a 20 point effort in a big 46-33 win over Tolleson HS and a 22-point effort in a 70-56 win over Desert Vista HS.  Jensen also shot 49% from the field on the season.

Jensen is a nice-looking face-up four on the court that competes hard on both ends of the floor, is a good offensive rebounder and runs the floor hard, where she often scores in transition.  A nice pick-up for the Iowa State basketball staff.

Jensen is also an excellent student and carries a 4.0 CUM GPA.

Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report:  Jensen is a stretch-four that is capable of stepping outside and shooting the basketball out to 15-18 feet, but does most of her work at this point in her young career inside the paint or around the low block.  She gains good inside position and works hard around the basket to create scoring opportunities for herself.  She is a good finisher inside and is capable of getting to the free-throw line quite often.  She is an active rebounder on both ends of the floor and rebounds outside of her area.  She is a good passer of the basketball out of the post and looks for the open man on the floor, a nice attribute.  She is a good defensive player in the post and is capable of guarding players on the wing, although she needs to continue to work on her lateral quickness to defend quicker players on the wing.  A solid athlete, Jensen's best asset is her ability to fill the lane and run the floor, which she does quite well and often scores in the secondary break.  She plays with an excellent energy on the floor and plays with a purpose.  A very good looking face-four prospect that will get better over time - has some upside.  Excellent student.
