The state of Arizona is not normally known for having young top-rated post talent, but 6-foot-9 rising sophomore post Emmanuel Kabasele Tshimanga is the exception - recently moving to the state of Arizona. The large and young developing post prospect has emerged in the state of Arizona and will play for a smaller high school program located in south Phoenix.
Tshimanga is an excellent prospect for the state immediately, as he is among the biggest post prospects in the state, and has many years left still to develop as a player. A native of the East Coast, Tshimanaga works out daily with New York coaching legend Paul Suber in the state, and also plays for Suber on his club program, the I-10 Celtics.
Tshimaga will attend South Pointe High School next fall, alongside many other very gifted prospects in the state. The team will be loaded with talent and Tshimanga will be a big piece for the basketball program.
At 6-9 in heigth, Tshimanga is a large post talent with big hands and feet and a large frame that he uses to gain excellent inside post position inside the paint. He has good low-post footwork and a nice jump-hook, which he uses effectively to score inside the paint. While he is still very raw offensively and improving a great deal, Tshimanga is improving at a nice rate and should continue to develop a great deal over time - developing himself into a sure-fire high-major prospect over the next 3 years.
Tshimanga's best quality he has is his size and he runs the floor very well now. While he should become much more athletic over time, as he matures physically and gets stronger and faster, the future looks very bright for this young man since he plays hard and competes at a high level. A very nice attribute for a young post prospect.
As a member of Arizona's 2019 class, look for Tshimanga to become one of the more sought after targets in the class, as college coaches begin to discover him and evaluate this young man's talent. While players this size and young do not come around often in the state of Arizona, he should become a big fish in a smaller pond quickly.
Tshimanga will continue to travel this summer on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit with the Adidas-sponsored I-10 Celtics' 16U club program.
I will continue to follow Tshimanga's development and college recruitment closely and bring you any updates as they continue to develop.
