Josiah Gillard is 5-foot-10 7th grader (2028 Class) from Clermont, FL. Josiah attends Foundation Academy for school, and is a current high school varsity player. Josiah is already having a very amazing young career from the experience he’s been gaining and developing from his young basketball career.
Josiah has more experience than many other players in his class, as he has been playing high school basketball for (2) years already. He was brought up to play junior varsity during his 6th grade year, and then played his first full varsity season as a 7th grader this season.
Josiah has been playing fearlessly and aggressive against other high school prospects. He is a clean shooter, plays with a good aggression level, has a high IQ and motor and is a 3-level scorer that is willing to attack big guards and defend older players.
Josiah’s biggest performance in his high school career, thus far, has been putting up 20 points and leading his program to a win over TFA (The First Academy). It was the first time his program defeated them in (10) years.
The first time I saw Josiah, he had an incredible performance, while only playing with one arm. He had broken his left arm, but was still be able to play and train with his one good arm.
Josiah is very mentally tough human being for his age. The attitude and mindset that Josiah plays with has helped him to progress a lot in his playing career. He definitely is going to be known as a top-rated national prospect over time.
His goal is to get noticed from college coaches and earn himself scholarship offers. He wants to gain more athleticism and get stronger. He also aims to reach his 1,000th point career milestone. What a great story for Josiah so far, and it’s far from over.
