Desert Vista High School's talented freshman Jerzy Robinson is considered one of the best young female basketball players in the country. Jerzy is only a freshman, with offers already from UCLA, Alabama, Ohio State, Arizona State, Arizona, Texas A &M, Georgetown and Oklahoma.
Jerzy is an excellent student, with a 4.3 CUM GPA and plays for the very talented Desert Vista High School women’s basketball team.
Jerzy credits her strong relationship with God as the reason why she is able to handle the spotlight at a very young age, with the amount of attention she is receiving. Jerzy attends the CCV Church, and she approaches every game with the saying, “Trust in the Lord and always bring your A-game."
Jerzy credits the support of her parents (Taryn and Darnell) as another big influence in how she is able to play in the spotlight.
“My parents introduced me to discipline at a very young age,” said Robinson.
Discipline has helped Jerzy take her game to an elite level. Jerzy devotes an hour after each practice - working on strength and conditioning on her upper and lower body.
Jerzy stands at 6-foot-1 and plays the point guard and shooting guard positions and excels very well in each of those positions.
Jerzy has been averaging nearly 20 points, 1.4 assists, 8.1 rebounds and 2.3 steals per/game. Those stats are unreal, especially for a freshman in high school.
Jerzy plans to see herself playing in the WNBA one day. “I strive and work hard to be the best on the court," said Robinson.
Jerzy possesses an impressive skill-set, elite athleticism and a very high basketball IQ. Many scouts are already projecting her to be a future WNBA Lottery Pick. Jerzy works hard on both sides of the ball, where she can easily attack the rim with her speed, and the ability to defend all positions on the court.
Jerzy has other hobbies besides basketball. Jerzy loves to spend time with her family, traveling and enjoys reading.
“I really like reading different stories, especially murder mysteries," said Robinson. "Reading helps me broaden my knowledge."
Jerzy believes in giving back to her community and volunteers a lot.
“Me and my family made a nonprofit to donate to homeless people," said Robinson.
Once her playing days are done, Jerzy sees herself as a sports broadcaster.
“I love everything about sports, and I can see myself as a sports broadcaster," said Robinson.
This is only the beginning for Jerzy, whose team has been picked to win the state championship this year.
