Tucked away next to the campus of Arizona State University lies a hidden gem in the desert that athletes, namely amateur to professional basketball players, flock to throughout the year to take their games to the next level.
Throughout the year, athletes spend valuable time breaking down the intricacies of their sport including movements, situations, and physical assessments that allow for maximal improvements in multiple areas in a very short period. In terms of basketball, this involves not only the highly coveted increases in vertical leaping ability and raw athleticism every athlete chases, but also the finer position-specific details of being able to more effectively attack the rim, set up for a midrange jumpshot, defensive situations, and reactive ability, just to name a few. This is not your ordinary strength-and-conditioning program plus on-court skills session, but rather a scientific blend of the two parts.
The founder is a biomechanical engineer, Sidd Sharma, that has set up his own gym into a unique assembly of old-fashioned strength equipment combined with cutting-edge sensors and custom-built equipment to mimic game-like situations under more challenging settings. This is not your typical "one-stop-shop" or "bells and whistles" type facility either, but one that was very specifically designed to provide each athlete with a unique edge.
Each athlete begins with proprietary tests using advanced sensors and analytics that were developed to unlock hidden weaknesses that may be limiting the athlete's athleticism. Next comes a customized strength-and-conditioning program to iron out weak links and minimize risk of injury. Along the way, position-specific exercises are designed and scientifically implemented based on the athlete's style of play that allows the player to move more efficiently under game-like conditions.
Although the founder has routinely been on the road working with McDonald's All-Americans, top high school and college programs, and NBA players, he has recently been able to provide players in Arizona an unparalleled opportunity with a highly innovative facility that may ultimately allow the desert to become a breeding ground for the nation's top talent.
For more information on how serious athletes can take advantage of being a part of the future of player development and taking their games to the highest level in the shortest period, please contact Sidd Sharma (see below) for more details.
