The Dream City Christian Prep basketball program has consistently produced some of the best basketball talent in the country for many years now, and this year's program is absolutely loaded again with top-rated national talent. We have waited for several years for the announcement of one of the most talented prospects in the program's history, Dream City Christian Prep's 6-foot-4, 190-pound senior guard Ikenna Alozie. Alozie is a special talent in the nation's 2026 Class, and he gave a big verbal announcement on CBS Sports in front of a large audience recently at Dream City Christian - announcing that he would sign with the University of Houston and Head Coach Kelvin Sampson and his coaching staff. This was another huge commitment from an Arizona prospect this fall, in a record-setting fall of signees from the state.
Alozie received a large number of offers for himself, during the recruiting process, before giving his big commitment and signing with Houston. Alozie also considered offers from such schools as Michigan, Alabama, Wake Forest, LSU, Utah, Louisville, Cal, West Virginia, Washington, Viillanova, UCLA, Oklahoma State, Georgetown, St. John's, BYU, SMU, Providence, Creighton, Oregon, Arizona State, Cincinnati and Bryant.
A native of Nigeria, Africa, before moving to the state of New Jersey, and then relocating to Dream City Christian Prep in Glendale, Arizona. As a mere sophomore, Alozie dominated his competition, and has continued to do so over the past few years. Alozie has been regarded as a Top 20 nationally ranked prospect by ESPN for America's 2026 Class for some time, and is currently rated as the nation's #27 prospect in the class.
Alozie will make an immediate impact in the collegiate ranks, as he has a resemblance to Lawrence Westbrook (NBA) as a player and prospect. Alozie is a sure-fire big-time talent. While Alozie had already received numerous offers for himself during his time at Dream City Christian Prep, many college programs quickly realized his talents while playing with the Utah Prospects on the 3SSB Adidas circuit.
Congratulations to Alozie and his family and the amazing Dream City Christian Prep coaching staff on this big signing from our staff here @ Arizona Preps. Alozie will have a huge senior season, and I look forward to continuing to watch him play this season in preparation for a big-time college career.
Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report: This young man is a serious athletic talent with a man's body and physical strength. He is a ultra-athletic and bouncy performer that seems to run and jump forever. He has a very high motor and competes hard. He is an offensive juggernaut already, as he is an NBA-level athlete. He is very skilled and possesses a developing perimeter shooting stroke, which he can shoot with range. He also has a strong mid-range game and has excellent body control in the air, which allows him to take contact and still finish strong at the rim over and through defenders. He excels in the open floor where he is a highlight reel dunker, and he is also a strong slasher and finisher in the half-court set. He is a strong on the ball defender and plays passing lanes like a defensive back. There truly are no weaknesses in his game, as he also has an excellent motor. A future pro prospect.
