Former top-rated Division-I coach Andre LaFleur has been named as the new Head Coach of Gilbert High School's basketball program. A coach with a decorated collegiate coaching career, LaFleur has been appointed as the new head coach of Gilbert High School - succeeding former longtime Head Coch Jay Caserio. LaFleur’s arrival is set to usher in a new era for the program.
LaFleur brings a wealth of experience from his time in college basketball. He was an assistant coach at UCONN, where he helped the Huskies win two national championships, and compiled a 258-88 record. He then spent (5) years at Providence, contributing to four postseason appearances, and later played a pivotal role at UNLV, where he helped the program develop a recruiting a class that was ranked 12th nationally, before his departure.
LaFleur’s hiring is expected to revitalize the Gilbert community and elevate the Gilbert High School basketball program. His track record of developing talent and winning at the highest levels bodes well for Gilbert’s future.
