The official NCAA Division-I Men's Basketball Recruiting Period will begin on Saturday, September 9th as division-I college coaches will begin hitting the road in an attempt to recruit the nation's top basketball prospects at their respective academic institutions.

The division-I recruiting period, through the NCAA, will begin on September 9th and run through the month of November - ending on November 5th.  During this period, evaluations by division-I coaches will be limited to regularly scheduled high school, prepatory schools and two year college contests/tournaments, practices and regular scholastic activities.

There will be many different division-I college coaches and programs venturing to the state during this period to evaluate and also recruit Arizona's top prospects.  While our state has definitely lost some top-rated talent recently to transfers, the overall significant increase in talent in the state, as a result of the development of new prep school programs, should more than make up for the recent loss of top-rated prospects such as Josh Green (IMG Prep Academy-FL), Tevian Jones (Culver City HS-CA) and Jared Martin (Prolific Prep-CA).

The influx of talent at Hillcrest Prep, AZ Compass Prep, Bella Vista Prep and CGM Prep has raised the overall level of talented prospects in the state of Arizona, as these programs have attracted top-rated talent from other states and also other countries.

Immediately following the NCAA recruiting period, there will be a dead period from November 6 - 9th, followed by another long recruiting period between November 10th through March 28th (December 24-26th is a dead period).

The contact period for NCAA Division-II member institutions began on Thursday, September 7th and runs through October 14th.  During this period, division-II programs can contact prospective student-athletes.
