The Hillcrest Prep program is already loaded with some top-rated national talent and now this year's program has gone to another level with the addition of transfer, 6-foot-11, 250-pound 4-star power forward Antwan January. January recently transferred from Santa Monica High School in Los Angeles, CA, and now will anchor a loaded lineup at Hillcrest this season.
January is a load and one of the top post prospects in the country - possessing numerous high-major division-I offers already for himself. He will add some serious size and toughness to a Hillcrest Prep team that already has some of the top perimeter players in the country. January is a force in the paint and has a strong ability to score in the post, while also being dominant on the glass. Very few high school prospects have his combination of size and strength, which makes him a valuable commodity among college coaches. He also runs the floor and is a good overall finisher.
Currently, January has numerous offers on the table for himself from such schools as Texas Tech, Fresno State, New Mexico, Nevada, Washington State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Kansas State and Boise State.
This season, January will join top nationally ranked prospect Kyree Walker on the team. Walker is among the best players and talents in the country. Also joining Walker in the Hillcrest backcourt this season will be 6-foot-5 junior guard Dalen Terry - giving Hillcrest one of the best backcourts in America this high school season. The addition of January to this very loaded backcourt should mean a great deal for the Hillcrest program this season as they face some loaded competition this season.
I will continue to follow this story closely and bring you any updates as they continue to develop.
